The Ice Cream Incident

Well, many know that when you are pregnant, you have irrational mood swings about stupid stuff. I have had a couple of unnecessary "meltdowns", but in general I've tried to keep a handle on it. Unfortunately for my husband there was a little incident last week regarding some ice cream. See, I haven't been able to eat anything really sweet because of overall sickness. I am just now coming out of that and when I want something specific, my stomach can usually handle it.

We ventured out to Ukrops for some dinner and I remembered they have little single serving sizes of Starbucks ice cream. I thought it would be a great re-introduction to sweets for the children and hurried to grab some before we left. Because of the "car melt" that occurs, I always throw the ice cream in the ice maker so that it will re-freeze quickly.

As we stood in the kitchen my husband starts using the ice maker and it makes a weird noise. I say: "Be careful, my ice cream is in there." Needless to say when I went to recover my sweet confection, the ice maker blade had kung-fued it right down the center. I immediately went into a major meltdown that went something like this:

Husband: "Why are you crying?" (dumb question)
Me: "I WANTED THAT!"
Husband: "I'll go get you more."
Me: "NO!"
Husband: "I feel bad, let me go get you another one."
Me: "NO-IT'S NOT WORTH DRIVING ALL THE WAY OVER THERE!"
Husband: "But I feel bad, I'll go get more."
Me: "NO-STOP YELLING AT ME!"
Husband: "I'm not yelling, I just want to go get you more."
Me: "Just drop it!"

It went on like that for a few more minutes and then I ate an apple. Isn't pregnancy fun??
